||SensL Array4 is a 4x4 matrix of silicon photomultipliers optimized for the readout of L(Y)SO, NaI:Tl
and CsI:Tl scintillators. Array4 is designed to serve as a low light photo detector in PET, X-ray and
radiation detection applications.
Integrated on a compact, non-magnetic package designed to have a minimal MRI footprint, Array4
can be tiled to build arbitrarily large, position sensitive detector systems. Low voltage operation, high
pixel uniformity, robustness and compactness make Array4 a cost effective and highly versatile
alternative for PIN, APD and small area multi-anode photo multiplier tubes.
||Building on SensL’s high volume production capabilities for silicon photomultipliers
(SPM), Array4p9 is a low cost 144 pixel, position sensitive low light detector
integrating SensL Array4 ceramic packaged silicon photomultipliers. The
following schematic shows a cross section of Array4p9
||SensL Matrix9 is the first modular, turnkey readout system specifically
designed for nuclear medical imaging applications. Building on SensL silicon
photomultiplier technology, Matrix9 provides a fully solid-state, four-side
scalable detector for the readout of L(Y)SO scintillator arrays. It integrates
all the electronics required to localize, time stamp and discriminate scintillation
Digitized event data comprising time, location and energy are sent to the
host system via high speed USB interface. Integrating multiple detector
heads, Matrix9 can perform temporal coincidence analysis thereby reducing
data rates to and computational load on the host system.
Matrix9 is available as a turnkey, fully integrated module or as an OEM
sub-system for rapid integration.
||The SensL Matrix detector (SPMMatrix) is the largest area, highest channel count, Silicon Photomultiplier detector on the market today.
It consists of a 61.28mm x 61.28mm Silicon Photomultiplier detection area
using SensL’s SPMArray4 detectors mounted onto a matrix board which provides
bias to each array. Two analog boards each containing 16 analog channels
provide amplification, discrimination and energy sampling. The SPMMatrix
is also supplied with an FPGA board which implements cross-wire logic time
stamping and readout/buffering events to the USB or openPET bus. It also
contains SensL’s power board to provide the necessary bias to the arrays.
The SPMMatrix is the ultimate large area SPM detection system on the market
today and for easy portability, it is supplied in a handy travel briefcase.
||SensL’s SPMMicro series is a High Gain APD provided in a variety of miniature,
easy to use, and low cost packages. The SPMMicro detector series is suitable
for applications requiring high sensitivity, low noise detection in the
visible to near IR range. The SPMMicro series is a solid-state detector
sensitive to single photons. The detector consists of an array of Geiger
Mode. Avalanche Photodiodes (APDs) or microcells, each individually coupled
to integrated quench electronics. It is a type of detector referred to
as a Silicon Photomultiplier (SPM). The SPMMicro combines high gain and
quantum efficiency characteristics comparable to Photomultiplier Tube (PMT)
detectors with the additional benefits of silicon technology such as compact
size, magnetic field insensitivity, low operating voltage, robustness,
and tolerance to overexposure.
Geiger Mode APDs have extremely high internal amplification that allows single photon sensitivity at room temperature.
The output of a Geiger Mode APD is an identical, fixed charge or current
pulse for each single photon detected. By connecting an array of Geiger
Mode APDs (microcell) in parallel, the summed output becomes proportional
to the number of Geiger Mode pulses and hence proportional to the incident
photon flux. SensL offers three detector sizes for the SPMMicro series:
a circular 1mm diameter, square 3mm x 3mm active area, and a square 6mm
x 6mm active area.
Each detector size is offered with a variety of microcell design sizes, 205m, 355m, 505m and 1005m.
||The SPMMini is a solid state alternative to the Photomultiplier Tube(PMT).
It combines the high gain (10E6) and high quantum efficiency of the PMT
with the well appreciated benefits of silicon including size, low operating
voltage, robustness, reliability, magnetic field insensitivity, tolerance
of excess/ambient light, and suitability for miniaturization. In addition,
the detector has high signal
to noise and fast timing properties.
The SensL SPMMini detector consists of a microcell array of Geiger mode
Avalanche Photodiodes (APD), each individually coupled to integrated quench
electronics, is known this is known as a Silicon Photomultiplier (SPM).
The uniform high gain of the SPM allows the single photoelectron peaks
to be clearly resolved permitting both single photon detection and measurement
of the photon number.
The SensL SPMMini includes a transimpedance pre-amplifier, a Peltier cooler
driver circuit to enable cooling to –20°C and integrated power supply as
standard. A variety of add-on options to enhance functionality are provided,
including C-mount (male) adapter and a fiber coupler (adapter and fiber
cable included). The detector is mounted on a two-state Peltier cooler
in a hermetically sealed TO8 can. During normal operation the SPMMini is
cooled to –20°C. This allows greater performance over room temperature
operation as the dark rate is reduced by over an order of magnitude. It
is available with an active area of 1mm circular diameter or 3mm x 3mm
(square) and with two different microcell sizes: 20μm and 35μm.

||SensL’s HRMTime is the first portable USB high resolution timing module
on the market. It is a highly functional system incorporating high end
timing functions in an easy-to-use, flexible and high performance module.
The HRMTime provides four channels with 27ps of timing resolution and a
maximum data rate of 4.5 mega samples per second over USB to the computer.
DLL libraries and LabVIEW drivers simplify the integration of the HRMTime
